A VULNERABLE 93-year-old was the victim of a credit card fraud, a court has heard.

Ashley Dick is accused of using the elderly woman's missing card in a bid to get cash for himself.

Prosecutor Sara French told Colchester Magistrates' Court yesterday the 30-year-old, of Brooklands, in Clacton, used the card three times on September 10 as he tried to make the gain.

Dick denied three charges of fraud by false representation but admitted possessing a Class A drug, having been found with heroin when he was arrested on September 20.

Dick was given bail but was ordered to stay at a property in St Christopher Way, in Clacton, until his next court hearing, at Colchester Magistrates' Court, in November.

He must also remain indoors between 7pm and 6am every night.

He will be sentenced for the drug offence after an expected trial on the fraud charges.
