A MUM and daughter from Colchester got their 15 minutes of fame in a Channel 5 documentary, titled 'My Mum's Hotter Than Me!"

Barmaid, Charmane Bennett, 33, appeared in the primetime programme on Tuesday night, after crews followed her getting ready for a photoshoot and doing a glamorous school-run with daughter, Yasmine Hilden, 14.

Charmane is reviving her modelling career and Yasmine is showing signs of following in her mother's footsteps, having done a joint photoshoot for Garage Magazine in October.

But despite her glamour modelling past, and reaching the top 20 in The Sun's recent Bust in Britain competition, Charmane has vowed to avoid lingerie shoots in future to save Colne Community School pupil Yasmine's embarrassment.

The pair, from Harvey Road, featured alongside a body-building father and son and a woman who had spent £60,000 on plastic surgery on her breasts and lips.

After being followed by film crews for five days, and not allowed to see the final cut until it aired, Charmane was not sure what to expect.

She said: "I was worried they would make me into this monster but they did it really well.

"It's about me doing the school run and Yasmine saying, "aren't you a bit over-dressed? You shouldn't be dropping me off like this".

"Then it shows me getting a spray tan and getting my nails done to get ready for a shoot.

"Yasmine's a bit embarrassed but supportive as well and has come to a happy medium. She doesn't want me to do the lingerie shoots so I said I wouldn't do them.

"Her happiness has got to come first."

She added: "It was intense having a film crew in your face for eight or nine hours a day, recording everything you say.

"But it was great and I would definitely do it again."

Charmane's appearance on Channel 5 was not her first experience of television work.

She has appeared as an extra in TOWIE and goes to castings for television, film and music video work up to four times a month.

When she is not behind the bar at the Leather Bottle, in Shrub End Road, Colchester, Charmane is working with her agent, Pam Boon, on launching a new agency called Glamouricious, which is for women of all ages and sizes.

She said: "It doesn't matter what age you are, what size you are - you can still do modelling.

"Life is much happier and more positive if you do what you want to do."
