A MAN has been rescued from the River Colne in Colchester.
Firefighters were called to help the man, who was clinging onto reeds in the water near Riverside Place.
Station Commander Lee Palfreyman said: "We found the man clinging onto reeds in extremely cold water.
"Crews did a brilliant job putting their training into practice. They quickly got a line around him and pulled him to safety."
The man was left in the care of the paramedics.
Two fire crews from Colchester attended the scene at about 2.30pm this afternoon.
