CARING Sian Dent braved a sizeable snip, all in the name of charity.
Sian, ten, of Churchill Way, Colchester, decided to have around half of her 2ft 4ins long hair chopped off to raise cash for the Little Princess Trust charity, which provides real hair wigs to children who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Sian’s mum Sara Talajlo, 40, said her daughter wanted her hair to look more grown up for when she starts Thomas, Lord Audley School in September and for it to be for a good cause.
Ms Talajlo said: “She spoke to me a couple of times about having it cut.
“I said there was a cause where you can donate your hair. It was her who then wanted to do it in memory of my friend Mandy.”
Mandy Lunniss, from Tiptree, died in 2013 after battling breast cancer. She was aged in her early forties.
Ms Talajlo said: “She would help anybody no matter how she felt.”
