A HOUSE building company has donated £1,000 to provide holidays for Colchester’s military heroes.
Persimmon Homes Essex gave the cash to the Rotary Club of Colchester, which will use it to support the Holidays For Heroes Jersey charity.
The charity provides holidays to Jersey for veterans of Colchester-based 16 Air Assault Brigade.
David Casey, of the Rotary Club of Colchester, said: “We are extremely grateful for this generous donation.
“With the Brigade now out of a warzone, they are still one of the UK’s first lines of defence and as a club we believe the need for support will not be reduced.
“We are committed to the well-being of the military personnel and their families serving with 16 Air Assault Brigade.”
Norman Sharpe, from Persimmon Homes Essex, said: “The work the club does with the Holidays for Heroes Jersey charity is very commendable and it’s great that they honour this region’s military personnel in this way.”
