POLICE are investigating an aggravated burglary in Harwich.
Two men, believed to have been armed with a firearm, followed their victim into a house in West Street at about 6.30pm last night.
They demanded money, and made off with a small amount of cash.
No one was injured in the burglary.
As part of their inquiries police executed a warrant at a property in Abbott Road at about 2.45am this morning and arrested a 24-year-old man.
Gary Loryman, of Abdy Avenue in Harwich, was charged with obstructing a constable in the execution of his duty and will appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on November 11.
Police are continuing to trace the suspects.
