BLUEPRINTS for a new primary school in north Colchester will go on show on Wednesday.

Essex County Council, along with the Department for Education, is planning the new school to meet growth in the number of school spaces required in north Colchester.

The council wants to build a 420-pupil place building on land off the Northern Approach Road and adjacent to the old Severalls Hospital site.

The proposed building will have 14 classrooms, a library, group rooms, and a multi-purpose hall.

There would also be outdoor play areas, a grass playing field and staff car park.

The public exhibition will be held at The Chairman’s Suite, Colchester United Football Ground, United Way, Colchester, from 3pm to 7pm.

Representatives from the council, the building contractor and the architect will be on hand to discuss the proposals.

A planning application will be made in a few weeks’ time.
