A MERCHANT navy veteran from Colchester was guest of honour at the launch of a new set of commemorative stamps.
Fred Honisett, 85, from Lexden, visited the Cutty Sark to see the unveiling of the stamps celebrating the historic role of the merchant navy.
Also a guest at the day was Captain Gwilym Williams, 98, from Mersea Island.

Royal Mail has launched the set of 10 stamps marking six landmark ships, including to Royal Mail Ships, and four scenes commemorating the Arctic and Atlantic convoys during the Second World War.
