Crossroads carer role to be examined at AGM

THE role of carer comes under the spotlight at a charity’s annual general meeting later this month.

Tendring and Colchester Crossroads offers help and support to those who provide unpaid care to family or friends who could not cope alone.

Its service includes respite care for adults and children, a day centre and the largest young carer group in Essex.

But, primarily, aid comes through a trained carer support worker who visits the home weekly to take over the caring responsibilities.

The organisation will be holding its annual meeting at its headquarters, Bosworth House, High Street, Thorpe le Soken, on Tuesday 28 August at 6.30pm.

Chief executive officer Juliet Jeffrey said: “As a local charity, Crossroads cares for people, not profits, and we look forward to welcoming both clients and members of the public to our AGM.”
