Kirby Cross: Two burglaries linked

DETECTIVES are linking two burglaries in Kirby Cross.

The first break-in happened when thieves entered a house in Stubbs Close between 1am and 3am on Thursday, August 9 and stole a laptop.

The second burglary took place a few metres away in Wavring Avenue at approximately the same time, but this time the thieves got away with a laptop and a white Ford Focus.

Dc Daniel Jefferies, investigating officer, said: "The two locations back on to one another and, in both burglaries, the cars were the main targets. A faulty garage door at the Stubbs Close address saved that car. The Focus that was stolen was brand new, brilliant white and saloon rather than the usual hatchback so it will stand out. We’re looking to hear from anyone who may have seen this car being driven away from the area or has seen it since.”

Forensic examinations of both houses were carried out as were house-to-house enquiries.

Anyone with information in connection with these burglaries are urged to contact detectives at Clacton police station on 101.
