Man fights off attackers in attempted robbery in St Osyth

A MAN fought off two attackers who approached him and tried to steal his valuables.

The victim, 27, was confronted by two men on Greenland Grove, St Osyth, on June 26 at about 3.30pm.

The robbers put their hands into the victim’s pockets and threatened to harm him if he didn’t hand his valuables over.

But the victim managed to push one of the men over and punch the other before running away.

Investigating officer, Det Con Jo Mangham said: “The descriptions of these two lads are fairly distinctive so we’re confident that someone knows their names and can provide them to us before they have the opportunity to strike again.”

The crooks are described as being white, in their mid-late teens with Irish accents. One of them had ginger hair, and was wearing a chequered shirt at the time.

It is thought that the men were driving a black Ford Mondeo.

Anyone with information should contact detectives at Clacton police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
