Accused cleared of hotel rape charge

A MAN has been cleared by a jury of raping a woman in a Clacton hotel bedroom.

Timothy Rukundo, of Culvers Retreat, Carshalton, Surrey, had denied the charge and told Chelmsford Crown Court the woman had consented to sex with him in the Travelodge Hotel last March.

The 26-year-old was formally discharged after the jury returned a not guilty verdict.
