A PARALYMPIC gold medal winner visited primary school youngsters in St Osyth in the run-up to the Olympics.
Swimmer Liz Johnson, who has cerebral palsy, won gold in the 100m breaststroke at the 2008 Paralympic Games.
She visited St Osyth Primary School on Friday to talk to pupils and answer any questions they had, as well as showing off her medals.
St Osyth Primary School headteacher Tim Palmer said: “Liz gave a very interesting and informative talk about how she overcame her disabilities to compete.
“Meeting her was a tremendous experience for our pupils and listening to her was very motivating.”
The visit was arranged after St Osyth Primary became the 1,000th school to sign up for the Communication Triathlon.
Run by children’s charity ICan and Openreach BT, the communication triathlon includes Olympic-themed activities to teach youngsters about thinking, talking and teamwork.
