ARSONISTS are suspected to be behind a shed fire which spread to a nearby bungalow.

Firefighters were initially called to a fire at a shed in Gorse Way, Jaywick, in the early hours today.

The flames spread to a detached bungalow which was under renovations.

Two crews wearing breathing equipment worked to put out the blaze which left the bungalow with serious damage.

The property had been left unoccupied during the building work.

A joint police and fire service investigation was being carried out to establish the cause.
