GREEN-FINGERED growers put on a dazzling display at a spring flower show.

The Frinton and District Horticultural Society had their annual spring flower show on Saturday at the McGrigor Hall in Frinton last weekend.

The event shows off some of the residents’ spectacular floral and culinary offerings which they’ve been tending to throughout the year.

David Foster, chairman of Frinton in Bloom, said: “The chairman John Deering was concerned that the weather over the last few weeks would have effected the number of entries, but that certainly wasn’t the case.

“It was supported by a number of members of the public and we had about 200 entries in total.

“It was very pleasant and there was a lot of produce on show.

“There was a very large selection with everything from daffodils, tulips and vegetables.

“A lot of money was also raised selling bits and pieces which will go towards running the society over the next year.”

Competitor Gerda McQueen went home with four out of the seven trophies that were up for grabs and the best in show award was handed to Mr Deering.
