THE number of people claiming unemployment benefits in Tendring has increased slightly in the past month.
There were 2,035 working-age people claiming out-of-work benefits in the district in August.
That was up from 2,030 the previous month.
The number of unemployed young people, aged 18 to 24, increased from 440 in July to 460 in August, although that figure was 12 per cent lower than this time last year.
