A FAMILY was left shaken after waking to find two burglars in their home in the early hours.
The crooks targeted the property in Queens Road, Clacton, at around 2am.
Bank cards and a purse belonging to one of the victims were taken, although they were later recovered further down the road.
Det Inspector Gary Biddle, from Clacton CID, said: “This was a very frightening incident for the victims, who are both elderly.
“Although they were not hurt they’ve been left shaken and it’s really important we find the people responsible.
“If you have any information about this incident or saw two people acting suspiciously in the area, I need you to contact me.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Clacton CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
