A RESTAURANT extension and four new two-bedroom flats look set to be on the menu for a site in Frinton’s Conservation Area.
Phelan Construction submitted the plans for Piatto Italian Restaurant, in Connaught Avenue, and they have been approved by Tendring Council.
The scheme involves extending the restaurant at ground floor level with the flats constructed at first and second floor levels fronting onto Harold Road.
A similar application for the extension and four one-bedroom flats was granted permission last year.
Now the flats are to be extended rearwards to create the extra rooms.
The site is in the town’s settlement development boundary and it was felt that the design, scale, and detailing of the proposal is in keeping with the area and will improve the visual appearance at the back of the site.
Frinton and Walton Town Council opposed the idea and there were three letters of objection received by the district council.
