A DOGWALKER fought off two men who tried to rob him.
The man in his 50s was exercising his white Bichon Frise when he was approached by two men off Morses Lane, Brightlingsea.
The two suspects, both described as white and wearing dark clothing, approached the man and one demanded he hand over money.
The victim hit the suspect and knocked him to the floor, but the second would-be robber kicked him, before they both made off empty handed.
The incident happened just before 7.40pm, on Friday November 18 but details have only just been released by Essex Police.
Det Sgt Dan Jeffries is investigating the incident.
He said: "It is unlikely anybody would have seen what happened because of the location.
"However somebody may have seen the men making off after the incident and I would really like to hear from them if they did.”
Anybody with information is asked to contact Ds Jeffries at the North CID Team on Essex Police 101. People can also give information to the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via an anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org
