A MAN has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a collision where a female cyclist died.

The crash happened at around 5am on Saturday, August 29, last year, on the A133 at Weeley.

Frances Davies, 42, from Frinton, was riding a pedal cycle at around 5am when she was involved in a collision with a van.

She was taken by ambulance to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridgeshire where she sadly later died.

Sebastian Higgins, 33, an electrician from Archery Fields in Clacton, has been bailed to appear before Colchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, September 13.

Following the crash, Frances' family paid tribute to their "hardworking daughter".

They said: “She loved her animals and was very close to her family.

“Losing Frances so soon has devastated the family.”
