A SCHOOL has been forced to close down half of its site after suffering a power failure.
The west side of Clacton Coastal Academy in Pathfields Road has been closed today after an electrical fault was reported.
Leaders were informed on Wednesday evening and had to take the closure decision.
The east side of the site still has power and is still in use for years 11, 12 and 13, but the school was closed to other year groups.
Executive principal Caroline Haynes said: “We received the notification about the power on the west side of the academy and ran a risk assessment.
“Work is ongoing and we hope it will be open again quickly. We will keep parents informed.”
Ms Haynes says she is hopeful the entire school will be open again tomorrow.
