HUNDREDS of jobs will be available at a major careers fair in Clacton next week.

More than 50 firms, as well as the Army, Navy and police, will be at the jobs fair, which attracted more than 1,500 people last year.

The Tendring Council and Jobcentre-run event is now in its third year and supported by the Gazette.

Firms from the care sector, hospitality, retail, logistics and construction will all be represented, along with training providers.

A big turnout is expected again this year. Council leader Neil Stock said: “Last year, over 1,500 people visited the event and there were actually 600 jobs available on the day.

“Opportunities such as this one are not to be missed, and jobseekers will be able to talk directly with representatives from the employers and training providers, which no other recruitment method offers.

“With free advice and support on hand for everyone, it’s also a chance to go window shopping for a wide range of different careers, gather useful information and plan future action.”

Stansted Airport will be represented at the jobs fair for the first time. Other employers include Marks and Spencer, Costa Coffee, Wilko, Surya Foods and Hotels, Milsom Hotels, Premier Inn, Rose Builders, Sainsbury’s, Abellio Greater Anglia, NatWest, Barclays and Systems Logistics International.

The Tendring Jobs Fair takes place at the Princes Theatre, Station Road, Clacton, on Tuesday, from 10.30am to 4.30pm, and is sponsored by sponsored by Bookers and Lidl.
