A MINI food festival that allows independent traders to showcase their produce attracted 5,000 hungry shoppers.
A Taste of Frinton saw shopkeepers on Frinton’s famous Connaught Avenue set up on the street on Saturday to entice customers old and new.
Butchers, greengrocers, fishmongers and chutney makers all lined the streets for the third edition of the annual event.
Jon Wright – owner of Wright’s Butchers – hailed the day as a huge success.
He said: “It went really well and we had some great feedback.
“We had a new range of dry curries which we had on offer, as well as traditional barbecue meats.
“Most of the traders get involved and it is fantastic.
“We had the weather on our side, which always helps.
“The aim is to get people to come down, find out we are here and hopefully if they like what we do, they will be back the next week.
“It might cost me £200 or £300, but eventually I will recoup that.”
