TENDRING has clinched a hat-trick of awards for its parks after impressing judges.
Clacton Seafront Gardens, Frinton Crescent Gardens and Weeley Crematorium received Green Flag awards from environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.
The parks and green spaces were among 122 across the East of England to receive the honour. The Green Flag awards are judged by volunteers who assess areas on criteria including cleanliness, sustainability and conservation.
The Tendring sites are all maintained by the district council.
Its environment boss, Michael Talbot, said it was a “fantastic achievement” and reflected thehard work and dedication of staff and volunteers.
The grounds at the crematorium grounds are maintained by a fulltime gardener, helped by the council’s open spaces team and pupils from St Andrew’s Primary School.

The Green Flag area on Clacton seafront stretches from the Memorial Gardens to the West Greensward, and is maintained by council staff and volunteers from the Friends of Clacton Seafront Gardens, schools and local groups.
