A GROUP of keen growers is on the look-out for new volunteers to help keep a community garden thriving.
Dig 4 Jaywick was set up four years ago on a plot of land off Lotus Way.
Volunteer gardeners have transformed the village site since then, creating raised flower beds and an orchard.
The group celebrated its fourth birthday with an open day and barbecue for the community, and organisers want to recruit more members to help the scheme grow.
Chairman Barry Shimell said: “We are always on the lookout for more volunteers and anyone is welcome to come along.”
Teresa Watson, Tendring Council’s neighbourhood manager for Jaywick, said: “They have worked hard to make a real go of this site, which was unused before.
“They have lots of new ideas to expand.”
