A CLACTON author has taken part in gruelling obstacle run to raise money for a children’s cancer charity.
Keen runner and fundraiser Chris Cowlin took part in the Insane Terrain mud and obstacle run in Woodbridge, Suffolk, in aid of CLIC Sargent for Children with Cancer.
Chris, who has raised thousands of pounds over the years for children’s charities, came 11th out of 209 finishers.
He said: “I love challenges and always think ‘What next?'
“I was up to my waist in wet mud and was stuck at one point, but it was so enjoyable.
“The course consisted of hay stacks, netting, climbing frames, rivers and streams and wet muddy areas.”
“I am absolutely delighted to finish in the top eight in the male category and cannot wait to do another similar event soon.”
Chris was also due to take part in Monday’s Bupa London 10,000 run in aid of Children with Cancer UK.
He added: “I love charity fundraising. The charities really need the money and it makes you feel good by helping.
“Even if the donation is a small one, it all helps.”
