A NEW adventure farm park will be a “major shot in the arm” for tourism in Clacton, it has been claimed.
Penny Smith’s plans to create Hasty’s Adventure Park at the Smith Farms site, in West Road, were given the green light by Tendring Council’s planning committee on Tuesday night.
The five-hectare site, next to Clacton Airfield and Miller’s Barn Golf Park, is made up of grassland, arable fields and a fishing lake, which was previously used as a gravel extraction site.
The park will include traditional farm animals, a wildlife area, play areas, sandpit and small go-kart track, as well as an information centre, stables, large shelters, toilets and a barn.
Councillors welcomed the plans and said they believed it would bring in many visitors, as well as provide a unique experience for residents and visitors.
