A YOUNGSTER has thanked generous donors after her sponsored haircut made her one of the top fundraisers in the country last month.

Becky Phillips, 14, of Kirby Road, Walton, had her long hair chopped off to help youngsters who are battling cancer.

Her hair was sent off to the Little Princess Trust, so it could be made into real-hair wigs for young cancer sufferers who have lost their hair through treatment.

Becky, who has learning difficulties, also collected sponsorship for the event and raised a whopping £800.

She used online donation website justgiving.com and has now learned her donation windfall put her in the top five per cent of online fundraisers in the country for March.

Foster mum Debbie Byles said: “Becky was told her Just Giving page was one of the most successful in the entire country. It is some achievement and we are so proud of her.”
