YOUNGSTERS from a Clacton school set up their own fundraising race event to boost the fight against cancer.
Year Ten and 11 pupils from Clacton County High School organised and took part in the inaugural CCHS Race for Life.
They set up the fundraiser with the school’s humanities department as part of their ethics class course.
A school spokesman said: “Students took to the field for three laps of the Vista Road ground to raise money and help raise awareness of Cancer Research. As with every Race for Life, those who completed the course were presented with a medal and have so far managed to raise a grand total of £200.”
It has not been decided whether the school will run the race as an annual event.
