A £1.5MILLION water park could be built on Clacton sea front in a bid to attract more tourists to the resort.
Clacton Pavilion wants to add the feature to its growing list of multi-million pound crowd-pulling attractions, which include a bowling alley, 5D cinema, restaurant, adventure golf and children’s rides.
Boss Billy Peak said it would be an outdoor family play area aimed at youngsters aged up to 12.
The attraction could feature pools and fountains, but Mr Peak insisted: “It won’t be 50ft-drop slides.”
The idea is still in the very early stages and details have yet to be confirmed.
The project will need planning permission before it can go ahead.
Mr Peak said: “It will be a family water play area up to the age of about 12, with water-based attractions around it.
“I stress that it is at a very early stage and there are many hurdles to cross.”
