A COMMUNITY exhibition on rural living has been hailed a success.

The event, which was held at Great Bromley village hall, attracted more than 100 people on Saturday.

Organisations who went along included the Citizens Advice Bureau, police, fire brigade and Teen Talk.

Fred Nicholls, chairman of Tendring Council’s rural projects panel, said: “I am often told that events like this only happen in the towns such as Clacton and Harwich, and I thought it would be great to hold one out in the villages.

“I was delighted with the turnout and it has proved a huge success and well worth all the effort.

“The groups were also pleased to be able to get out here and tell some new faces how they can benefit from what they provide.”

The event was put on with Community Voluntary Services Tendring.

Chief officer Sharon Alexander said: “This was very much a pilot to see how well it was received and it has gone down extremely well.”
