A PREGNANT mum who sent a heart-wrenching text to her husband moments before stepping out in front of a train was let down by health professionals, an inquest heard.

Joanne Norris, 28, who suffered from severe anxiety, died last year after jumping on to a railway line.

She was eight months pregnant with her second child and had stopped taking her long-term anti-depressants due to the pregnancy.

An inquest was held to establish the reason for her death in Chelmsford on Tuesday. Coroner Michelle Brown recorded a suicide verdict after hearing witness statements.

The inquest heard Mrs Norris sent a heart-breaking text to husband Jeff and three-year-old daughter Lily shortly before she killed herself.

It said: “I love you and Lily with all my heart. It’s not your fault I’m like this. I just can’t cope no more. I’m sorry.”
