A SUPERMARKET chain that plans to build a new store in Walton has sent leaflets into thousands of homes around the town.
Aldi wants to create a new store on the former Martello Caravan Park site, which closed its gates for good in December last year.
Bosses have now started a public consultation into the plans and have sent leaflets to 3,800 homes around the area.
Each one has a survey on the back for residents to fill in and send back to have their say on the proposed store.
Aldi is planning a 1,254sq ft store with a 102-space car park, creating 40 to 50 jobs.
A formal planning application has not yet been submitted, but if it gains approval, the new store should be opened in 2016.
