SHAUN Corcoran looks like the last man you would expect bullies to target.

The brawny bodybuilder, of Frinton, has won numerous competitions and made the cut for the British Championships on numerous occasions.

He currently weighs about 20 stone, but come competition time he will trim down to a muscular 17 stone.

Despite his imposing physique, Shaun was the target of playground bullies at Caterham High School, in Ilford, when he was growing up.

“I was a typical, little skinny kid getting pushed around," he said. "I was a tiny little thing and an easy target.”

But after watching Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1982 movie Conan the Barbarian, Shaun felt inspired to bulk up to face his aggressors.

Shaun entered his first competition at just 16.

“It’s my life these days,” he admitted. “I’m either training or eating. At the moment I’m on a gap year because I want to get even bigger.

“Next time I’m at the British Championships, I want to cause some damage.”

The hulking ex-soldier owns the store Guns Fun and Camouflage in High Street, Walton.

He has three times qualified for the British Championships, made the final three of the UK Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation’s London Championship, and was the only Briton at last year’s Spanish Championship, where he finished an impressive fifth place out of 50 competitors.
