A PRIMARY school opened its doors to the community for a charity coffee morning.
Brightlingsea Junior School, in Eastern Road, put on the fundraiser on Friday in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
Children set up stalls selling books, toys and cakes, and organised raffles and a tombola to raise extra money.
Staff and governors also served up hot drinks and the school’s choir performed.
About 100 people attended the event, raising about £400.
The school also hosted a non-uniform day last week, raising more than £200 for the cause.
Headteacher Claire Claydon said: “It was really nice. We’ve had some really lovely comments. It was busy all the way through.“
