PROJECTS across the Tendring district have been awarded more than £100,000 in cash handouts.
Seven groups across the district applied for grants through Essex County Council’s Community Initiative Fund.
It total, £120,000 has been handed out to projects.
Little Clacton Village Hall and Harold Lilley Playing Field Trust got £15,000 to provide an artificial surface on a children’s playground.
Brightlingsea Town Council was awarded £10,000 to renew play equipment and The Great Estate of Bocking Elms Residents’ Association picked up £20,000 for furnishings and equipment and to get a new community centre up and running.
Alresford Village Hall Management Committee was awarded £20,000 for works to extend and improve the village hall.
Other grants included:
- £19,000 for Great Bromley Parish Council to repair and replace play equipment at Hare Green recreation ground.
- £20,000 for Manningtree’s Hub drop-in centre.
- £16,000 for Mistley Cricket Club’s pavilion.
