THOUSANDS of festive shoppers queued up to get their photographs taken with the iconic Coca-Cola truck at Clacton Factory Outlet.

Christmas-loving shoppers turned out in force for the festive spectacle at the shopping centre, in Stephenson Road West.

The sparkly red truck first appeared in the company’s TV adverts almost 20 years ago and the commercials now signal the start of Christmas for many people.

Shoppers had the chance to get their photo taken with the famous truck, as well as soaking up seasonal music while enjoying a free bottle of Coke.

Centre manager Allan Hassell said: “There was such a fantastic atmosphere - everyone got into the Christmas spirit. The Coca-Cola truck was brilliant and people were queuing to have their pictures taken.

“There were lots of children and parents, families and friends enjoying themselves. We had more than 2,500 people by midday - it’s been our biggest event ever.”
