A man has been released on bail by police investigating reports of accosting and suspicious behaviour.

The 53-year-old from Colchester, was arrested yesterday evening in connections with two incidents in Clacton on Saturday, October 18.

He has been bailed until tomorrow.

Extra patrols by uniformed officers are taking place to reassure the public.

Chief Inspector Russ Cole said: "We are asking parents and children to remain vigilant.”

Officers began their investigation after teenage boys were accosted in the town by a man on Saturday.

The first incident took place at around 6.30pm near an alleyway off Dudley Road.

The second took place at about 9pm in Coppins Road.
