MUSIC students at Clacton Coastal Academy were treated to an inspirational visit by their counterparts at the prestigious Chetham’s Music School in Manchester.
The Year Ten pupils spoke to the students and musical director Stephen Threlfall.
They performed at the Pathfield Road school and discussed the techniques used in their pieces.
The Chetham’s students performed on violin, cello, trombone, clarinet and tuba.
During the workshop Mr Threlfall explained the training routes his students took, either by studying at a conservatoire, or combining music with another subject at university.
Academy principal Tracey Hemming said: “The standard of performance was amazing and proved a real inspiration to our students.
“I could see our students were awed by the talents of the Chetham’s guests and I hope it will spur them on to practise even harder.”
