THOUSANDS of pounds is being spent to prevent a town centre car park in Walton flooding.
The car park, just off the High Street, floods whenever the area is hit by heavy rainfall.
Contractors have now started work on an £11,000 scheme to improve drainage. It should take about a week to complete.
The car park is owned by Tendring Council and is home to the popular Walton market on Mondays and Thursdays.
The council said it would try to minimise disruption.
