YOUNG performers have a chance to take part in a huge production of one of the world’s best-loved stage shows.

Youth Theatre Performerz are holding auditions for talented actors, singers and dancers to star in the biggest showing of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in Clacton.

Director Melissa Wenn said the producers were looking for a new challenge and had come up with the idea of bringing the West End favourite to the resort.

“We want to involve as many young people from our community as possible and we have chosen a lower age group this time,” she said.

“All they have to do is turn up on the day for a part as a dancer, in the choir or as one of the main characters.”

Auditions will be held at the Princes Theatre, Clacton, on September 21, with dancers taught the routine from 10am to 11.30am, the choir learning a song from noon to 1pm, and main characters preparing lines to be heard from 1.30pm and 5pm.

Rehearsals for the big production will then begin in February.
