GREAT British organisation triumphed over the Great British weather at the Brightlingsea Horticultural and Dog Show.
About 90 people took part in the Brightlingsea and District Horticultural Society show, and another 50 in the dog show, on Bank Holiday Monday.
Committee chairman Carole Warren said: “In spite of the rain, it was quite a success.
“We took the decision on Sunday afternoon to move it into the community centre and everyone enjoyed a friendly and jolly time.
“The dog show went ahead.
“There are normally about 80 or 90 entries, but there were still about 50 and they did a sterling job despite being saturated and freezing.
“There were some outstanding prize winners.”
Categories includes flowers and flower arranging, vegetables, baking and specialist sections for children.
The event took place from 2pm to 6pm inside and outside the centre on Lower Park Road, Brightlingsea.
