A THRIVING wind farm company has launched a new vessel at Brightlingsea.
CWind, which started in 2009, provides services to the offshore wind industry such as equipment, rescue services, inspections and technicians.
It has now added Fulmar to its fleet, which was officially launched at Colne Yacht Club.
The Fulmar will be used to transport up to 12 technicians who will carry out maintenence work to the West of Duddon Sands wind farm off Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, over the next three years.
It was built by CWind’s sister company, CTruk, based at Brightlingsea’s Shipyard Estate.
Chris Randle, executive chairman, said: “We are delighted to receive the CWind Fulmar into our fleet. She is the 20th vessel CTruk has built, in what continues to be an outstanding local partnership."
