NINE out of ten mainline trains in north Essex arrived on time last month.
Greater Anglia scored 89.9 per cent punctuality on the line during the four-week period ending on June 21.
Services meet punctuality targets if they arrive within five minutes of their scheduled time, or ten minutes for long-distance intercity routes.
A power fault in Chelmsford on June 17, and signalling problems at Liverpool Street the following day, caused significant delays for commuters.
Greater Anglia managing director Jamie Burles said: “Although train service performance in the most recent four-week period continued above the national average, I am sorry that services were disrupted on certain days during this time.”
