ESSEX’S police and crime commissioner has been chosen to lead a national association.
Nick Alston was elected as chairman of the board of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC) at a meeting in Manchester on Tuesday.
Mr Alston said: “PCCs are determined to help shape modern, efficient and professional policing for the next decade and beyond.
“This will involve working closely with local partners in our own force area and, equally importantly, using our collective influence to shape national policy in the interests of our local communities.”
