Braintree: New community centre and kitchen garden unveiled at Wethersfield

Defence workers and their families can now enjoy a new community centre and kitchen garden, thanks to residents dedicating hundreds of hours of their time to the project.

The facilities at the Ministry of Defence Police and Guarding Agency Headquarters, at Wethersfield, will provide a venue for activities, including art groups, coffee mornings, health visitor clinics and toddler groups.

There will also be a drop-in desk where staff and residents can learn about sustainability and conservation projects on site, such as a woodland creation project which aims to restore 100 acres of trees at Wethersfield.
