Heard the one about the duck that swallowed a coin?

A pet duck is lucky to be alive after undergoing a tricky operation to have a coin removed from her gizzard.

Braintree veterinary surgeon Robin Creighton of the Millennium Way practice said it was one of the most unusual cases he had come across in his 16-year career.

So unusual was this case, that Mr Creighton was unable to find any examples of similar operations on the internet.
