Bubbles are not just for blowing and popping.
Carousel Children's Centre in Chapel Hill, Braintree, held a bubble-themed morning to encourage children to talk.
Laura Roel, manager of the centre's nursery, said it was part of the government initiative Every Child a Talker (ECAT), which aims to promote youngster's language development.
Together with ECAT lead professional Laura Harding, she organised activities including giant bubbles which the children could stand inside, filling a sensory room with bubbles, making smoothies and paintings - which create bubbles - and using traditional bubble wands dipped in soapy water.
