A new rural bus route will be launched next month.
Villagers in Great Saling, Bardfield Saling and Little Bardfield, can use The Salings Community Bus to visit Saffron Walden on Thursdays from April 22.
The weekly service will have one outward and one inbound journey.
Essex County Council has worked with Braintree Community Transport, parish councils and village agents to provide the route.
There will be timed stops but the bus will also stop along the route within the village when hailed if safe to do so.
Drivers can also help passengers on and off the bus and help with shopping bags.
Roger Walters, the county council's deputy cabinet member for transport, said: “I am delighted that we are able to introduce these new bus services in the Braintree district.
"We have listened to the requests of residents, and have responded by providing new services that are designed to really benefit local communities.”
Fares are a flat rate of £2 (single or return) and half price for children aged five to 16.
Children under five and concessionary bus pass holders travel for free.
