A golf course development which residents doubt will ever be finished has been dubbed an “eyesore”.
Extension work at Lords Golf and Country Club in White Notley over the past few years has proved controversial.
Residents of the village, and also nearby Black Notley, had claimed the development was affecting their quality of life as lorries transporting materials covered everything in mud, damaged the road and buildings and cut off utility supplies.
Alison Hunt, chairman of Black Notley Parish Council, said residents were “very much pleased” the lorries had stopped, but they were now left with a “blight on the landscape”.
She said: “It’s an eyesore. When it rains it’s an absolute mess of mud and oil and water.”
Mrs Hunt said basically there had been no work at the site in The Green since last summer, adding how all the equipment had now been removed.
